I love leaf fall, though it is a lot of work. It is good winter mulch and compost for the garden! 🙂
Absolutely!
A beautiful carpet…
Yes, yes!
Beautiful! Such a variety of colours too!
Thanks, Anne! Wish I could share their delectable, nutty smell.
They certainly have.
All over our yard!
Magnificent carpet! Although they prompt work, I’m grateful you preserved their beauty too.
Soon Clif’s electric mower will be crunching them. I wanted to get a picture of them before he did.
I love Fall, but there’s something sort of sad about the trees dropping their leaves. You’ve got some lovely shots here though.
Yes, a certain sadness to fall, but also a certain expectation. Winter is coming!
The multi-coloured leaves seems to spread like a blanket over your garden..
That they do!
A glorious autumn carpet Laurie and lovely how you captured some of the leaves as they float down to earth 🧡🍂
Many thanks! Not easy to catch those falling leaves.
Did that happen all at once? True confession, now that I live where there is no “fall” to speak of, I kind of miss raking leaves. It’s such gilded abundance, you can pretend you’re raking up money or something.
Not all at once, but pretty darned fast.
I love the flurry of leaves flying before the wind! Raking and jumping in the leaves are such fond fall memories. I still must rake, but the jumping is left to the younger generations. 😉
Yup! I can just imagine the aches and pains—maybe more!—that would come from jumping in the leaves. I’ll leave it to dogs and kids. 😉
I’d probably break something, ha!
Ahhh, such cheerful colors.
Fall is a beautiful time of year in Maine.
When there’s a shower of the little gold ones, I always imagine it’s Dust, the Philip Pullman kind.
Hadn’t thought of that!
Wow, that’s quite a carpet you have there! Leave mulch forever!
Yes, yes!
Wow! You are not kidding. That’s a lot of leaves!!
Absolutely gorgeous (as long as I don’t have to rake them). 😀
Clif chops them up with his electric mower, but I do have to clean the driveway.
Your patio looks so different surrounded by this beautiful carpet!
Indeed it does.
I envy you those lovely leaf colours. In my garden the leaves are falling but they are all dull, dirty browns!
That’s too bad! I hope you are getting the lovely nutty smell of dried leaves.
Sadly it has mostly been to wet so the smell has been more ‘damp rot’ than ‘nutty’!
That is too bad!
A beautifully photographed carpet
Thanks, Derrick!
The post title says it all!
Sure does!
A wonderful frame ours is destroyed by steady rains.
Oh, that’s too bad.
I miss the leaves. I can almost catch that scent, wafting from your patio. Every now and then, a whiff of woodsmoke drifts in from ‘somewhere,’ and I’m back half-a-century, jumping in the leaves before they’re burned.
Such a wonderful smell!
Your lovely yard looks beautiful covered in leaves!🙂
I hope you’ve been out kicking them, sore knee permitting. They look to be the crispy ones.
Actually, been taking ’em, sore knees and all.
