Notes from the Hinterland is a blog in which a Maine writer reflects about nature, living in a small town, people, social concerns, art, books, and food. (This blog was formerly called A Good Eater.) My husband, Clif, makes regular appearances as do my daughters, Dee and Shannon, and my son-in-law, Mike. My dog, Liam, and my cats, Sherlock and Ms. Watson, also show up from time to time.  My motto is, because I live in Maine, I live in the Hinterlands, and anything that happens around me is fair game.
