On this bright October Day, when the sky is deep blue and there is a nip in the air and there is no better place to be than Maine, I bought forty pounds of squash and ten pounds of potatoes from Farmer Kev. From beneath my friends’ apple trees, I gleaned nine pounds of apple.
What a wonderful bounty! Next week, I’ll be stocking up on more of Farmer Kev’s vegetables. And, I’ve got a lead on where to glean some pears.
Autumn is finally here, and how I love it.
Call Monday for pear picking! Bring containers! Lots and lots! Jim

Will do, Jim! Many thanks! I’ll also bring my husband. Now that he’s retired, there all sorts of projects he can help with 😉
Great photo of a harvest bounty…Fall my favorite season! have a great weekend, Johanna
Thanks, Johanna. Fall is one of my favorite seasons, too. I wonder if it’s because my birthday is in September 😉
Hooray for autumn!
Yes, yes! Hooray for fall!
That’s hard squash, right? The kind you can bake with butter and brown sugar? If so, I heartily approve.
Yes, Jason, they are hard squash that can be baked with butter and brown sugar. Also, they can be baked and made into soups and bread. Love them!
Our CSA farm’s delicata were lost to a fungus, so none this year. I envy you yours and will have to see if any are available for sale elsewhere! 🙂
Eliza, so sorry about the delicata squash. They are our favorites. Farmer Kev had lots and lots of them. Hope you find another farmer in your area who also does.
