Another Break

I am coming down the homestretch with Of Time and Magic, Book Four in my Great Library Series. Everything is ready for the cover, which I should be able to share with you in mid-July. So exciting!

But I’m just plain worn out, both from book work and from all that’s going on in this country. I need some time off, a staycation of a couple of weeks, where I read, nibble on chocolate, and putter around the house and garden. And that’s just what I’m going to do.

Speaking of the garden…here are a few photos from our yard at the edge of the woods.

See you in mid-July.

  1. I certainly sympathize with you. I think we are all worn out by what is happening around the country and yesterday was a very sad day.

  2. We have some of those yellow flower in our garden too! Take a break, we’ll all be here when you’re back. Congratulations on the book!

  3. I’m totally with you on staying close to home and eating chocolate. Sounds like a good plan. Try to drop your cares and woes and bury them in the garden!

  4. What’s happening in your country is indeed very sad, take time off and think about something else. Always a pleasure to see your garden.

  5. I find your political situation very wearing (and alarming) and I am thousands of miles away. I am not surprised that it is causing you some stress.

  6. Agree, a well deserved break away from home is much needed, am going away for a few days next week
Love the sunbirds/humming birds that visit your garden. Please give them my address

  7. Hugs to you Laurie. I am also just floored by the impositions of the people who are supposed to represent me. Am I mad, frightened, disgusted, shocked? Yes. all of these. Take a break. We all need to.

  8. How kind of you to leave us with a hummingbird. I am worse than sorry about our combined political situations – what affects one country is rapidly tumbling on around the world – and the cruelty of too many of the people entrusted with the care of nations of people. But I will enjoy imagining your staycation with chocolate.
