Beautiful! I love black-eyed susan flowers.
Thanks, Dawn! One of my favorites, and they actually grow in my shady yard.
Great summery image, Laurie!
Thanks, Eliza. Sunny, sunny!
Nice! I love those flowers.
They are one of my favorites!
Dear Laurie — As I return, joyfully, to your blog, I am thrilled (and, of course, always rewarded) by the sunshine image you shared. Your composition is beautiful and its message spot on for me today, as I celebrate light and (thank you, Gerard Manley Hopkins) “dappled things.” Your image gives proof to the beauty and reassurance of the light we see and are in the world. Love, Carol Ann
Oh, I am so happy to hear from you! Thanks for the kind words. I have been thinking about you and have been wondering how you were doing. Also, missing your blog very much.
So nice to hear from you too! I am giving serious thought to reactivating my blog, but first I want to return to this loving blogging family. So, today is my happy first day!
How close do you live to Brunswick, ME? I’ll be there the first weekend of October….
I live quite close. About forty-five minutes. Would love to meet up with you for lunch! Unfortunately, because of my creaky knees, I have limited mobility, which would rule out a walk. But lunch would be grand.
Yes, yes, yes! I would love to see you. I honor and sympathize with your creaky knees. Perhaps lunch on Friday October 4 or Saturday October 5? Do you have my email address?
Tomorrow, I will check my desktop to see if I have your email address. Also, I will check my desk calendar, but I think Friday, October will work best. Anyway, I will be in touch tomorrow. So looking forward to meeting you!
Just sent you an email! Hope it’s the right email address.
Hi Carol Ann – I do hope you get to meet up with Laurie…two of my best blogging buddies sharing a tasty lunch. Sounds perfect. If you do, spare a thought for the dear old Platypus Man, who also has creaky knees, to say nothing of an aching back and sore shoulders. Oh, the joys of old age! But, as you say, the world is full of beauty and light if we care to look for it. Enjoy your lunch!
Dear Old Platypus Man, your comment sure made me smile. I so wish you could join me and Carol Ann for lunch in Brunswick. If ever you come to Maine…
Thank you, Laurie. I fear my long-haul travelling days may be behind me, but if not…🙂
Just let me know! Would love to meet up with you and your wife.
Likewise, I’d love to spend some time with you and Clif (Mr Snowgauge!) if it ever becomes possible!
Fingers crossed! Who knows? Someday it might happen. IMr. Snowgauge is perfect. I will be sure to let him know about his ne name. 😉
Oh, Mr. P., we will raise a glass to you — and probably take a picture or two along the way. May the joys of old age continue to brighten your days (despite those aches)!
We will definitely raise a glass to you, Mr. P!
Thank you. Enjoy!
I love the suncatcher in the pot.
A cheery reflection of summer.
Golden yellow summer
Yes. Late summer has a special look.
How very pretty, Laurie! And Mr. Sun looks quite benevolent peering over them all!
Thanks, Debbie! The flowers and the sun certainly look like they belong together.
Beautiful! The black eyed Susan is Maryland’s state flower. They are wonderful waves of gold all over the yard right now. I’m glad yours perform in the shade.
Thanks, Ginny. What a lovely flower to have as a state flower. What a sight those waves of gold must be.
love the different light here
I am struck dumb by this.
A dazzling photo. 😉
Hi, Laurie – Your photo bursts with joy! ‘Love it!
Summer, summer, summer!
Beautiful 😍
Thanks so much!
The clarity of your sun makes it look like a wonderful, homemade lollipop!
It does! I had never thought of that.
What a fun suncatcher!
Thanks, Sheryl. Fun to have it among black-eyed Susans.
This is a delightfully cheerful photograph!
Thanks, Anne. It certainly proclaims summer.
Such are the joys of summer. In a few months, when the wind is howling and snow threatens, you’ll wistfully look at this photo and say to yourself “ah, I remember the good old days. If only…”
On a separate issue, I do hope you get to meet up with Carol Ann…two of my best blogging buddies sharing a tasty lunch. Sounds perfect.
Yes, yes! Although believe it or not, despite my creaky knees, I do like winter. As a Mainer, it is bred in my bones. 😉
Lovely shot
That is a superb photograph. 🙂
Thanks, Quercus!
