Not opposite — complementary! Purple and gold is one of my favorite color combinations, and this is a particularly soft and lovely example of the pairing.
Opposites that complement each other. 😉
That’s pretty! Opposite on the color wheel, and opposite shapes.
Yes, my thoughts exactly.
This is a beautifully composed photograph!
Thanks so much, Anne.
And opposites in growing location preferences, sun vs. shade. The BES are so bold and beautiful this year. I think the relentless heat spurs them on. The hostas? Mmmm, not so much.
Both the hostas and BES are flexible about sun and shade. This makes them good companions.
Beautiful flowers and complementary colours Laurie! 💜 xxx
Many thanks!
This would’ve made a perfect “Thankful Thursday” post, too, Laurie. It’s simply lovely!
Thanks so much! Always a lot to be grateful for.
Both of mine are blooming too. Hope you are having this beautiful weather today.
I certainly am! What wonderful weather. Same for today.
Two things I can no longer grow because of deer. Nice to see yours!
Well, darn! Nice that you have other beautiful options.
Nice!
My high school colors were purple and gold. Love these flowers together
Thanks so much!
This is absolutely gorgeous photography!
Thanks so very much! The garden provides many opportunities.
Neatly done
Thanks so much
Complementary opposites even on the Thursday side of Wednesday.
Love this! Yes!
The opposite colour scheme for a room pairs well. Imagine painting the walls in a north facing room yellow and then adding lilac and purple soft furnishings?
That would be pretty.
Your nature photos are always lovely!
That is a beautiful summer composition, Laurie. I love the green-yellow hosta leaves in the background, too.
Thanks so much. Funvti find such a pairing in the garden.
A beautiful combination!!🙂
Many thanks!
