The Cover of “Of Time and Magic”!

Woo-hoo! Double woo-hoo! Here is the cover of Of Time and Magic, the fourth book in my Great Library Series. James T. Egan, of Bookfly Designs, created this beautiful cover. I really do think it’s my favorite.

Of Time and Magic spans two universes, many planets, and the high seas. It concludes the story begun in Maya and the Book of Everything, when Maya began her fateful journey on that train from New York to Boston and gained possession of the enigmatic Book of Everything. Publication will be in the fall, probably in October.

Sniff. My little baby’s all grown up.

  1. Looks great, Laurie. I look forward to reading the last installment, but will miss further episodes, for sure. It must be hard to let go of those characters you’ve been living with for years. Leaving me to wonder what you’ll cook up next? 😉

    1. Thank you so very much for the kind words. My next book will be set in Waterville, Maine, and will revolve around Darcy, the young girl featured in “The Dog Angel.” Don’t have a title yet. Thanks for asking.

  2. Oh, great cover! So consistent with the previous ones. I love it. And she IS all grown up! lol Congratulations, Laurie. I so admire your hard work and talent. Enjoy this special time. xoxo

  3. I love the cover! And I am waiting to read the book! It must feek very strange that something which has occupied your life and thoughts for several years will end soon. Do you know yet what your next project will be? Or are you leaving space to see what fills it? Soemhow I can’t see you being on vacation full time.

    1. Thank you, thank you! It is a little sad to end this particular series, which I have been working on for over ten years. But, you are right. I’m not the type to go on permanent vacation. I do have my next book planned. It’s going to be set in Maine, in the small city where I was born, and it’s going to revolve around a young girl, a budding writer, and the Franco-American community where she lives. Thanks for asking!

  4. Laurie, I can see why you’re proud — it’s a lovely cover! I especially like all those dancing musical notes! Congrats again, and wishing you all the best with it!

    1. Thanks, Debbie! Music and voices play a big role in “Of Time and Magic.” It was my daughter Dee’s idea to include the notes on the cover, and it was a great idea.

  5. Beautiful! I was looking forward to seeing the latest of Egan’s wonderful covers. And I’m also looking forward to reading the book.

  6. Love the fantastic cover and how exciting!!🙂 I imagine everything about this book has felt different than the others and what an amazing journey it has been. Congratulations!!🙂

  7. I like it very much indeed, and am curious about the musical notes. My favourite though is still book three with the paper trees.

  8. Congratulations, Laurie! So fun to see Maya again … the cover looks great! You must feel torn to have the baby grow up!

  9. I imagine it’s quite emotional finishing a series of books and “retiring” a character created from your heart. The cover is gorgeous! Congratulations, Laurie.

  10. I am so happy for you! Do you frame your covers and hang them on your kitchen wall???? If not, start now! And speaking of starting, I’m eager to read The Great Library series myself! Congratulations, my friend.
