Here is what our yard looks like two days after a big tree came down, doing very little damage to the things we love.

As my Yankee husband might say, not too bad.
So true. A lot of work, I imagine, but even your garden looks in good shape. And your pretty blue clay pots (maybe a water feature?) came out unharmed.
Yes, the blue clay pots are fountain given to me by “the kids” for my birthday. How I love it, and how glad I am that it didn’t get smashed.
Yankees must be like Yorkshiremen (and women). The highest praise would be “s’all right.” (I was raised by a Yorkshirewoman so I know!)
I think you’re exactly right.
Wow, I hope you can use that for firewood. It should be dry enough. From the last blog, it blessedly missed most of your stuff and plantings. Whew.
We sure can use that wood. And, yes, how that falling tree missed so much will ever remain a mystery. One blogging friend suggested tree fairies. Another, wood pixies. Who knows?
Looking really good Laurie and plenty of firewood there too 🧡
Thanks, Susan! Yes, yes.
Susan? 😁
Sorry! Meant to write Xenia. Had just answered Susan.
🙂💜🙋♀️
My goodness you got that tidied away very fast, most impressive!
Thanks, Susan!
Wow, impressive– Looks like nothing happened at all – good work, guys!
Many thanks!
You’ve worked hard! No one would guess what happened just 2 days ago!
Many thanks! We even amazed ourselves. 😉
Looks good! That was a quick clean-up. 🙂
Many thanks!
Nicely handled and glad it wasn’t worse Laurie
Thank you! A big relief.
Great you got it all cleared up!
Always makes me feel better to have a tidy yard.
Not too bad at all.
Right, right!
Wow, you guys work fast. Your yard looks fantastic and now you have extra firewood to boot. That’s a wonderful way to take life’s lemons and make a cool, tasty drink!
You bet!
Not too bad indeed! You made such quick work of that tree!
Not too bad for a couple aging boomers. 😉
Indeed! You are superheroes!
A-w-w-w, thanks!
A very tidy yard, you’d hardly know there had been a fallen tree a few days ago..well done!
Thanks so much!
Good work, Laurie and Clif. Plenty of firewood there!
Yes, and I am pretty excited about that.
Looking good!
Many thanks!
Very good
Not too bad. 😉
Wow! You have been busy! A very quick clear up and a good firewood pile. I love seeing firewood stacked ready for my wood stove – there is something very primitive about seeing all that warmth waiting to be released. The electricity meter doesn’t give me the same feeling!
We have been busy. Yesterday, we had to give our aging bodies a break. But weather permitting, we will be out today doing more. I feel exactly the same way about heating with wood. So cozy and satisfying.
Take care of yourselves and please pace it so it is enjoyable not a chore. I am, you understand saying that to myself as much as to you!
Understood! And as we have aged, we have no choice but to take things slow and steady. 😉
Fabulous job getting that major project done so quickly! Enjoy relaxing and recuperating on the patio this weekend!🙂
There is still wood to split. 😉
That’s impressive work. And like so many others, the sight of stacked wood gives me a warm feeling long before the wood provides its own sort of warmth!
Many thanks! So true about the wood. I’ve been eyeing another dead tree that should come down. After this one is taken care of…
Do you have a fire pit to enjoy some cool Fall burns in the evening? -Oscar
We do. And perhaps we will!
Glad it cleaned up so well. Lots of cozy fire material there.
Actually, quite excited about this.
